What packages are you referring to exactly? Those packages normally select bzip2 because they need the libz2 library, not because they call the bzip2/bunzip2 programs. Maybe the bzip2 package should provide a separate option for the installation of bzip2 tools, so that even if packages depends on bzip2 library are selected, the bzip2 tools are not necessarily installed. No reply from the bug reporter since several months, and we don't see where the problem is. Closing the bug. |
